some more effort and commitment to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.
During your DM course , you had a great time diving , meeting people,
…. Well during our Instructor Development Course nothing will
change. The IDC is a relaxed 9 day program, during which we will provide
a professional and
fun learning experience. Not only will you learn how to teach all PADI
courses using the latest training materials, but we will have fun applying
all these new techniques in confined or open water, in one of Koh Tao’s
lovely bays
[GUY CORSELLIS : COURSE DIRECTOR]
Guy
Corsellis is the Manager of Asia Divers and a Course Director. He has
participated in many Instructor programs over the last 9 years, and
successfully taught scuba diving instructors who today are passing on
their knowledge to students all around the world.
Originally from Belgium, Guy has now lived on Koh Tao for over 14 years
and has an excellent understanding of the local scuba diving industry
- and just as importantly, the local people, instructors and culture!
, with the responsibilities of a wife and kid, Guy has moved further
into the business side of the diving industry, concerned with e-mails,
orders, educational materials and staff management
. Guy still gets a thrill out of teaching entry level divers, but as
his needs have changed he's been able to grow within the dive industry.
The dive industry is diverse and professional scuba diving instructorswho
work in the industry have many different objectives. Guy's capability
to adapt and teach on an individual basis depending on your personal
objectives has shown a high success rate . Guy conducts Instructor courses
in French, German, Dutch and English.
We feel that after an IDC with Guy at Asia Divers you will not only
be confident in your objectives as an instructor, but will have a clear
outlook of your future in the dive industry.

[PRIOR TO YOUR IDC]
As with most PADI programs, the IDC incorporates the home study philosophy.
Independent study enhances schedule flexibility and allows you to arrive
better prepared for the IDC.
Having prepared your IDC before getting here will
allow you to enjoy the island lifestyle a little more, as well as it
will make you a more knowledgeable and marketable instructor. Simply
order your Instructor Candidate Workbook, and answer all the Knowledge
Reviews in the Independent Learning Section. Doing so will make your
IDC schedule much more relaxed. While being at home , try to get hold
of the Diving Knowledge Workbook. Using this manual is a great tool
to refresh your Divemaster Diving Knowledge.
This section below will allow you to download all the necessary paperwork
required for your IDC.
[IDC DURATION]
The IDC could be completed in as little as seven days. This would make
the schedule really tight , and give us very long days. We prefer to
schedule it over nine days.
The IDC program consists of two parts , the Assistant Instructor course
( part 1, four days ) followed by the Open Water Scuba Instructor course
( part 2, 5 days ).
Prior to the start of each IDC program we run Prep courses to brush
up on Divemaster theory, skill demonstration quality, and we also give
you an introduction on how to organize Pool or Classroom sessions.
During these 12 days we have time to work together to ensure that you
are well prepared to pass the PADI IE , which helps Guy Corsellis and
his team to maintain a very high success rate.
